Uptake, Cytotoxicity and Carcinogenicity of Nickel Compounds on BALB/3T3 Cells

Abstract
In vivo toxicity tests of laboratory animal have been used to determine the workplace permissable air concentration. But recently cytotoxicity tests are regarded as important tools for evaluating the chemical toxicity and there is a tendency to
connect
its results with carcinogenic evaluations. Cytotoxicity can be evaluated by measurement of cell growth inhibition and plating efficiency and carcinogenicity by cell transformation assay.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. After exposure of each nickel compounds to the BALB/3T3 cells for 24hours, intracellular nickel concentration measurement showed that nickel uptake of NiS and Ni3S2 treated groups was greater than that of NiCl2 treated groups. There was
significant increase of nickel uptake in NiS and Ni3S2 treated groups.
